What I do When I Run Out of My Meds

What I do When I Run Out of My Meds

I am a Type 2 diabetic and this information is for Type 2 diabetics ONLY. I do not take insulin and I sometimes run out of my meds. I keep a stash of supplements in my cupboard that are said to be good for lowering blood glucose levels. When I run our of my meds I will sometimes take these supplements until my supply of new medications arrive. I presently have alpha lipoic acid, bitter melon and Gymnema Sylvestre supplements on hand. A new supplement to me is called Berberine. A fairly recent NIH study says Berberine is just as effective as Metformin at lowering blood sugar levels. Please google this and ask your doctor if you can take any of these supplements in a pinch. All of these supplements are available on Amazon and in health food stores. Check side effects first.
