Two-time Grammy award winner, Patti LaBelle has Type 2 Diabetes. She was diagnosed in 1995 after passing out on stage during a New York City performance. She states her mother died from diabetes complications. These days Ms LaBelle is a diabetes advocate, the author of a diabetes cookbook, and everyone is aware of her sugar-free sweet potato pies that are sold through Walmart.
