According to this video, blood glucose testing for Type 2 Diabetes on a regular basis is not necessary. I believe the reason for this is because a doctor prescribes certain dosages of medications for your Type 2 diabetes. Unlike insulin, one does not adjust their medications up or down based on testing numbers. If your doctor tells you to take x milligrams of Metformin and Glimepiride for example, you understand that you do not bolus. You are to take the same amount each day as prescribed, no matter what numbers are on your meter. You never adjust your medication on your own. Hope I’m making sense here.
